Bombay To Goa Culinary Journey
Grubshack principle is simple, soulfood from Bombay to Goa, taking you on a culinary journey showcasing a wide array of dishes from these two destinations. The interiors, come close to bring out a setup of a shack that you would find in a seafront area. A place where you relax, spend your day, with some cool smoothing music with some mouthwatering dishes.
This is exactly what the Grubshack is all about, exceptional quality food and affordable prices. The staff are well dressed with the floral tops, showcasing the tropical feel and they have a stage where the live band play some golden oldies and tunes that rock your senses. We were greeted by Michele, who look after us very well till the evening. She knew what she was selling as all her recommendation was on point. From the drinks, where she suggested the Jack frost and Kata Khat, both were nice on presentation and the drinks each having its own taste.
We had Mamams beef pan, fiery wok prawns. cheesy wheezy chicken and Jalapeno cheese burst/ The beef pan was made minced beef, rolled in a pan cake roll and deep fried. That was really good, lovely flavours not too chewy but decent texture to it and the wok prawns was the dish of the day for me, that was a like 1/2 kg Prawns. Fried with their special mix, the spice level was top notch, addictive. This was fully worth for AED 50. The Cheezy Wheezy was okay, the flavours were all over for me, couldn't enjoy the full chicken taste. The Jalepeno's were good.
When we asked Michele for suggestions for the mains she suggested the Chicken, burnt garlic and chili, Shark ambotik and beef chili fry. This combination was good, burnt garlic chicken and the shark ambotik perfectly complimented. The portion sizes were really good, this place was made perfect for sharing. We capped off our night by enjoying their smoking masala infused chai and a few bites of their dates and walnut.
Lancy, Allen and the rest of the team was really cool and helpful, they make you feel at home which adds to a great experience of the Shack. Overall a great experience and Michele, thank you again.
