Dhe Puttu

 South Indian Favourite

Dhe Puttu is as old as anyone can remembered, a staple food that could be eaten any time of day. South Indians have this mainly for breakfast and  dinner. Made from grounded rice and then steamed in a cylindrical hold and when released comes out line beautiful long pipe shaped, that's broken and served.

This is the based that can be had with a whole lot of curries, veg and non veg. Here we were served their spicy prawns, this was really good and I was surprised by the spice level of this one. Next came the puttu with tapioca and red fish curry. Loved it, the puttu wa so soft and melts easy, less flavours of the puttu gives way to the curries to do the talking.

Next we got an puttu that had a combination of beef layered between puttu and served with fried  chicken separately. Loved the combination, The chicken spice levels were good, got a bit of a kick too. Along with this I was enjoying my pineapple drink  too, fresh, refreshing from the summer heat.

Next we ordered the kunjukoonan puttu. loved the presensation here. comes in dome shape with sliced egg embedded inside. In all the dishes we noticed that the humble puttu was playing second fiddle, they wanted to highlight the wonders of the curries and the meat types and their preparation, we loved all of it.

They take on the dessert was for me average, It was not inspiring me and Im sure theyc an do better with more creative ideas. Overall it was a fantastic time, loved the crowd during lunch time, the place was packed, which is good given the current covid era that we live in.

Well done guys keep it up.
