Gypsy In Karama

Gypsy Chinese

After 8 years of operating inside a hotel property, Gypsy Chinese Restaurant, confidently moved out to be a stand alone restaurant. They have the chops to prove it, as they opened the restaurant in the bustling Karama area. The location is ideal, easy access in the main road with high visibility. I am sure they are going to give a run to other restaurants in this area.

They are predominantly is Chinese restaurant, bringing Chinese influences and nuances but wholly Indianised. You will be left to wonder if you entered to enjoy an authentic Chinese cuisine. but if you come here to be treated for something different, then you will not be dissapointed.

The place is clean, comfortable seating arrangements, during the day the natural light is ample and the staff are friendly. We started off with some sweet corn vegetable soup, which was good, thick and filling. Wasabi prawns and pan grilled fish was good too. Wasabi prawns had the right balance. The sweet chili sauce was a nice dip for the fish, which was lacking a bit of a  kick for me.  The lamb chilli was good, was surprised by the softness of the meat, well done this.

For the main we took the Chicken burn chilly with the chicken coriander rice. The burn chicken was nice, thick gravy and perfectly sliced chicken pieces. By now we were full of eating all the delicious flavours, the only set back for us was the Paneer chili was a left down, the feedback was given to the management on this, But overall this was a decent time we had here. This was quick and in one hour we had all this. A special mention to Mr. Chandrakanth who looked after us, and for serving us well.
