Healthy Food Choices
Baker & Spice has been around for a while now, over 11 years, an award winning restaurant in its own right with multiple locations in UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Local, Organic, fresh, homemade is their driving mantra. They food they source is locally produced, organically grown, and everything you see here is made from scratch.
I visited the their outlet in the newly opened S Hotel in the ground floor. A modern looking restaurant, with their food varities perfectly spread in the middle, so people can see fully what they are serving today. Perfectly displayed in large bowls, by the looks of it you know how fresh it looks.
We started off with their buratta, which was locally sourced, cherry tomatoes, rocca leaves. This was such a beautiful, natures goodness all bundled in one. You can get the fresh taste of these ingredients, topped with few slices of burrata, simply beautiful.
By this time we got our freshly made smoothies, I chose the Energizing Velvet, which was a mix of beetroot, celery, green apple and pineapple. I was surprised by the taste, was expecting it too be a bit sour, although you get a strong beet undertone, the taste was good and refreshing. I wanted to try their Octopus, which was oven baked, but before it was slow cooked for over 2 hours in an amazing mix of herbs and spices, all the flavours just embrace beautiful meat. Each bite was perfect, they got the texturing perfect, not too chewy.
Another filling item on the menu was the pulled chicken sandwich, which was a joy for people who enjoy a little spice kick to their food. This was filled with shredded chicken, green chilli, fresh tomato salsa, caramelized onions and this was such a dope sandwich. I loved it.
We were too full by now for a dessert or a sweet treat, but we opted to try their coffee. I was surprised but the quality of the cappuccino and the cortado. Both were really good, mainly because the coffee brand they use which comes from Ethiopia.
It was a nice time we had here, enjoying the top service we had here and the amazing food, which was healthy and delicious.
