Pantry Cafe
I wish I could enjoy the experience of being at the Pantry Cafe for many more years but unfortunately they will be closing their doors in a few days time. I had to make my way to this famous eatery, where many customers have celebrated good times and enjoyed their fine offering, who like me will miss this place. We hope and pray that they will someone, find a way back to being in business, somewhere, some place.
Here we enjoyed the soup of the day which was a kale, spinach soup. served with 3 slices of grilled bread. Excellent taste, no complaints, the portion size was good, easily can be enjoyed by 2 adults. Along with this we got the Spicy prawn tempura which had 6 pieces, set on a variety of garden leaves. Again, loved the taste, it was not spice enough for our pallets and the yuzi dip was a nice touch for this.
For the mains we took the margarita pizza and the wagyu beef. Pizza was nice, the outer crust was a bit over baked for me but the inside of the pizza was soft and smooth, each bite you can see the cheese string pull. The burger was nice, but It missed some layers of tomato slices, and some garnishing. The wagyu flavour was there but it could have been a filling bite if it had more add ons.
The chips I felt was a let down for the size of the burger. over all it was a nice burger to eat.
Rounded off with ordering their famed pancakes, this was three layers of thick pancakes. This was filled with wild berries, banana and chocolate sauce. A delightful dessert, the staff were friendly, chatting with us, staying positive and looking for a solid future. Its a pity this place is closing down, but we wish them all the best in their future journey.
