Fujiya Rules

Authentic Japanese Cuisine

Truly an authentic place to enjoy soulful Japanese cuisine. Located at the famed Millennium Airport Hotel, Fujiya is simply splendid. The interiors are simple but the decors capture the scenes of a typical Japanese restaurant. Wooden theme all around, even the furnitures  are simple and elegant.

Started off with some Saki, which they have many varieties on offer, and their grape fruit mojito. While we were enjoying this, the staff started to set up the gas cooker to boil the pot for their signature Shabu Shabu. This is a traditional celebratory meal in Japan,  its thinly sliced Australian Wagyu, dipped in boiling water with our choice of vegetables. after 10 secs of being dipped in the veg broth, they dip it in one of the two sauces. This was the first time I had Shabu shabu and surely wont be the last. Next the grilled Mackerel, wow, what a beautiful slice of fillet that was, crispy skin and juicy meat. Note, that they import their fish from Japan.

They have a wide variety of Sushi as well, surely you would expect that from a Japanese restaurant. I tried their dragon roll, which has shrimps, seaweed topped with avocado and cucumber. The portion had about 8 pieces, Loved it. The whole ingredients with the soft but sticky rice, embraces all the flavours. beautiful. Their Wagyu sushi was delicious, You can get the freshness of the meat from your first bite.

Next we got their deep fried chicken with tartar sauce. Again another top dish from the house of Fujiya. Truly these guys take the soulful flavours of the Japanese cuisine. While my time here I was expecting some part of their food to let me down or to give me an average experience but non of it that saw here.

There is much more that we tried here but I would leave that for you to come and experience  here. The experience is great and the service is fantastic, all friendly staff, and a note of thanks to the man who runs the show here. Mr. Akiyo. such a gentle, passionate person who rightfully heads these amazing bunch of people here. This is my new go to place for all things Japanese.
