Iftar @ Sobo
This is one stunning looking restaurant in the Marriott Courtyard Hotel at DIP area. The hotel is well known for its lovely Venetian look and waterfront edges that adds grandeur for this place. Sobo is a Arabic/ Lebanese cuisine.
I had visited their Iftar menu preview and man, I had a great dining experience here. Priced at AED 125, this is such a great deal. You get a 5 course treat here. Starting with a soup, hot and cold mezze, mains that has four items and then followed by desserts. The best part is, you dont even have to walk to the counters to serve your food, all of this items will come to you at the table and on time. The wonderful servers will ensure that your food keep coming, they even clear your table for the next meal. Such is the detail and care these guys give you.
Started off with a lentil soup, perfect temperature when it came, simple but tasty. Next they bring you the cold and hot mezze, where the cold consisted of Hummus, Moutable, Fattoush and baba ghanoush while the hot mezze had spinach fateyer, cheese rekak, grilled kebbeh and meat sambousk. You get two of these items which is decent size but by now you are half full with these traditional arabic goodness.
For the main we we beef kebab, Lamb kofta, shish tawok, shrimp and spiced dory. All of this for one person, man this was delish, the marination on the meat was so succulent. This was served with spice vegetable tagine with chickpeas, almond couscous and grilled sweet corn.
Now tell me, wouldnt you like this combination for AED 125, excellent, The food quality was exception and this was surely value for money. They have not cut corners here, but what they have given here is, their best offering and from their heart for people to enjoy Iftar with family and friends.
