Syrian Sensation At Blue Waters

Damascus Delight At Blue Waters

Opening their second restaurant at the majestic Bluewaters, Sah El Nom is one sough after restaurant for Syrian/ levant cuisine. Perfectly designed outlet with much of white and blue color theme is visible around the place. The view of the giant wheel from the outdoor seating in imposing. Its such a calm setting and mind you, this place can sit over 300 people comfortably.

We started off with their signature cocktails; the bluewaters and sahelnom. Nice colour combination and typical tastes of such mocktails, delicious. We got the smoked eggplant, topped with tomato, parsley, onions, walnut and pomegranate molasses. Lovely taste, fresh ingredients, the walnut and the pomegranate molasses were adding great undertones for the dish. Next we got the Samek Harra, which was a very delightful dish which had a fine baked fillet of seabass served on a Tahini sauce. Simple dish but full of flavours, this was totally different to other such dishes I have tried. The aroma was magical too, was perfectly complimenting out afternoon here. I suggest to sit out if you are here in the afternoon, it was not hot at all, the breeze from the sea was beautiful.

Next we were suggested to try their Sujuk roll, okay, this one you surely gotta try.  Arabic bread rolled with sujuk stuffed inside and then its thinly sliced. Man, served with rocca salad and pomegranate seeds, this was one fine dish. Thank you guys for suggesting this dish to us, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken fareekh, a nice touch by the head chef, Chef Abbas, this was wheat stuffed in chicken rolls, served with green peas. Nothing fancy here but each bite was taking you on a nice culinary serving, giving us the taste of how food tasted in Syria and in the Levant region.

The Tandoori Kebab was a wonderful dish that could be easily shared with 2 or 3 ppl. nearly half an kilo of fine marinated kebbas, served with biriyani rice. The Chef told me that he used chennai masala, which are spices that is used for the south India culinary marvels. This worked perfectly here, this platter was a joy to share.

We got the Cherry cake for the dessert, a touch of Chef Abbas here, this was a soft sponge cake, which was in a cheery shape and stuffed with cherry confitt in the centre. This was a perfect end to a great time here, the dessert was perfect, not to sweet but the cheery flavours were playing such great melody with the senses.

I truly loved my experience here. The food was unlike any that I have enjoyed  before. One thing I know is that Chef Abbas has got his special touches in these dishes that give out some amazing flavours. Sah El Nom is going to be a great go to place in the Bluewaters area. Well done guys, keep up the good work.
