Tanatan - Old Meets New

Tanatan -  A Cross Between Tradition and Modern

Once you step into the restaurant you will be simply awesome by many things here. One maybe the large open area with a neat table setting, highlighting a royal chamber of sorts, wooden, rustic and soul. The walls filled with colorful drawing and large Muriel of bells and wings, all taking us back in time, a time of an Era that will not come back.

Leaning towards the modern, well they have a large stage set with over head focus light and all, to give the Live band more color and prominence. There was a four set band, belting out golden oldies of Indian classic.

The Food and beverage was keeping up with the theme, well thought and presented. The Tamarind margarita was my favourite, a deadly concoction of bliss, you can keep sipping that all night long.

We ordered the Murg Bharwan, Aamchi prawns. These were truly top dishes, the chicken was two large pieces, a delighful flavour with the mint dip, the prawns  were great too, size was not the usual that you'd expect from many restaurants but these guys were large size prawns. The Bombil sandwich was a let down, was not living up to the standards that's already set.

Mains had a few interesting dishes, Sunny side up with Chicken Sukha was fantastic, Loved it, Tender chicken with loads of coconut sambal, excellent. The Lamb shank Pulao was magical. Full of Indian spices and cooked to perfection. The aroma from this dish was singing a delicious song, a good enough portion for two people. Food was fantastic and the price quite reasonable for a place like this.

Desserts consisted Rabdi with gulab jamun and badam pista, nothing to complain here. The service was good but at times was a bit slow.. Rexton did his utmost to keep our orders coming. Overall it was a fun and exciting time at Tanatan. We wish these guys the best of Luck in all what they do.
