The Han Family Is Back
This restaurant has history and an illustrious story, the family that brought to us ' Chinese Palace' is behind this new introduction. Han Shi Fu, revives the love of Chinese cuisine in a more gallant manner. The decorations and interiors take you back to an elegant period, smart lighting and ideal use of Bamboo and wood all add magic to this place. The tables are large and round and there is a separate area for private parties and gatherings. They have a pub, albeit on the side can stand on its own. There selection is grand and the mixologist are firing it up optimum, supported by a DJ who's spinning the records.
Started off with a fresh juice of lemon/mint which was called fresh and clean and, plus the " god's sake' which was a fine mix of passion fruit and sake, well presented, which, when served is lit by the server and mixed with the ice cubes loved it. More to this we ordered seasoned edamame, fried calamari and shrimp brioche. The edamame as perfectly seasoned with sea salt, the fried calamari portion was lovely, perfectly friend to golden color and crispy while you take a bite. The Shrimp brioche, was good in serving and loved the presentation. There was ample spread on the brioche of fresh prawn paste, wonderful flavours.
The braised short ribs was a fine dish, marinated with their special sauces and smoked for about 3 hours and then braised before serving. Falling off the bone, not too soft as you'd expect but lovely consistency overall. The roasted while mushroom was another fantastic dish and if you are vegetarian person you will surely love this dish. Top quality mushrooms give out the perfect earthly notes and aroma.
The vegetable fried rice and stir fried mix vegetables were a great addition to go with the mains we ordered. The desserts selection was quiet decent and we picked the passion fruit sorbet and green velvet cake. Loved the presentation on both, very thoughtful here. Home made sorbet, set on a round bowl which had smarties on the bottom layer. The green velvet cake is highly recommended, not sweet but the perfectly level in a dessert to end the evening well.
Along with the Ambiance, food selection , bar and all the rest, I need to mention the service standards here. All staff were genuine beating a smile and the heart to serve the customers with care and efficiency. Lisa, was such a happy spirited person who served us through the evening well, Eslan was dropping by from time to time to ensure if everything was alright.
I have no doubt that Han Shi Fu is surely going to be on a trailblazing journey. I wish them all the best and will surely visit them next time im in this area.
