Pai Thai - An Experience to Remember
Pai Thai, is one of the Uber dining experience in the Dubai's food map. This one restaurant that must be in your bucket list if not one of the things that you do in Dubai. The hotel itself is magnificent, designs have captured life time of past and have brought it to the Now. Excellent detail and to say it in one word - Opulence.
You can take a 10 min walk to the restaurant if not you can always opt to go thru the winding water canals in a motored wooden boat, which goes smoothly over the waters, this adds to the excitement of this place. Once you reached there, the ever so friendly staff welcomes you and takes you to your seat. It seems you can easily sit about 500 people in all, they have outdoor, by the waters and inside. Loving it already.
For the starters we had the Papaya salad, and man this sets the tone, excellent and honestly I have not had anything as spicy as this salad but it was wonderful. Next was the crispy paper prawns, this was finely fried, not oily at all and the chili sauce dip was adding to the flavours. Then we had the Thai curry puff, which was wrapped like a dumpling. Again, it was a fine presented and tasted dish. loved the starters, all of it.
For the main we got the Crispy prawns in red curry, man this was really good, top falvours, I would have loved if the Kaffir leave had been a few, it was at times over powering the dish, this goes well with the jasmine rice. The charcoal chicken is not something you expect in a Thai restaurant. Perfectly marinated chicken, with the smokey flavours this was a nice addition to the menu. The steamed seabass fish fillet was thoroughly enjoyed by my dining partner, the fish was perfeclty steamed which was smooth when you sliced with a fork, soy sauce was a top addition.
For dessert it was the all time favourite the Sweet sticky rice with mango. I was expecting a bit more from here, the combination was okay for me as It all didnt play well for me. The overall experience was fantastic. The large crowd enjoying the fine evening was exciting to see. The surrouding was fantastic, the weather awesome, the journey back to the main area on the wooden boat was topping off a perfect nice at Al Qasr Madinat Jumeirah.
