La Vigna - Italy In Century Village

La Vigna - Truly Italian

Oh, what a find this one. Located in the Century Village for over 18 years is the how hidden this has been and it was for me a true find.  The feel is exactly Italian, vintage and fine. The red and while checkered table top covers, the wooden fixtures, rustic walls and stoney grounds and cute flower arrangements, all take you back to a sleepy town in Italy. I am loving this place already.

We started with some freshly baked bread, just off the oven and the smell was kicking it in for us. We were nicely setting in for a fine treat. Next we got the Bruschetta, slices of penne, with mushroom, black olives, slices tomatoes. set nicely on a piece of bread and man this was lovely. Great flavours and fresh. We got the Zuppa Pollp fungi, which was a fantastic soup of chicken and mushroom and  we were told that they blend the mushroom so the taste stays level, for a cold day the time we went, this was fantastic. Next was the Salmon, which was  thinly sliced smoke salmon which was set on top of fresh leaves and topped with capers, which gave that extra zest to the dish.

For the mains we got the Mix seafood platter, which had prawns, calamari and hammour, a perfect plate to try their seafood serving they had. It was terrific, perfectly fried and dressed with spices. The we got the Risotto primevera, which was an Italian rice, cooked with mushroom, zucchini, roasted peppers and tomato paste. Loved the flavours and the presentation. Typical tasting Risotto as you would have in Italy. We got the Alfredo pasta as well, which came with ample topping of parmesan cheese. The texture was creamy and each bite was fantastic. Then came the big baby the amazing Pizza Diavlo. My my, this was really good, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, beef salami and red chili flakes. This was a definite winner, flat bread, fresh off the oven, amazing.

We rounded off our afternoon with their famous Tiramisu cake, creme caramel and gellato. The Tiramisu was a large piece which two of us finished in no time. Soft and moist on the inside, and a strong coffee powder was sprinkled on top which added balance to the dessert.

Overall this was one fine place to come and enjoy with family. Truly an Italian place, you will not be disappointed here. The ambiance is fantastic and the service was top class. Asif who runs things around here took very good care of us. This is a place , that you cant afford to miss. You can enjoy good times here. They have a fully licensed bar and have Shisha as well.
