Let's Go Fishing
One more addition to the many restaurants that opened recently on the stretch of the famous Jumeirah Beach Road. This iconic road has seen many restaurants and its still a joy to see many new restaurants opening here. As you fish, is a great addition in this area, where they serve freshly caught fish as per your preferred marination, cooked, grilled or fried. Just few steps from the main road, you can get decent parking on the main road and if you fail to get, you can always give your car for valet.
They have a decent sized seating area outside where you can sit and enjoy the cool weather with some fine seafood, or if you prefer to sit on the inside and still you can enjoy the cool vibes and the colorful wall Muriels. As you step on to head to the top floor you will be greeted by a perfect drawing of Santorini. They got the right blue and white mix and the bright sky, each step you take you walk into the modern fisherman tavern.
First I ordered the Passion drink, which was nice, fresh and with crushed ice, l always prefer Citrus falvored drink, hence this was a nice take. Next we got the Seafood chowder, which was a fine tasting soup. decent pieces of shrimps and thinly cut squids, the texture was perfect for me, not too thick nor watery.
Then we had the Prawn tacos, and this was really good. Topped with a variety of veggies and spicy sauce and the prawns, it was a delicious combination. The spice level was fantastic. One of the best tacos that I have tried in a long while. With this we got the watermelon topped with feta cheese with some bee honey. This was a first time for me, but I appreciate the bold take on this, but I felt the watermelon cubes were a bit too large and not easy to bite. It would be great if its cut into bite size pieces.
For the main we got the Prawn platter, which was a fantastic platter of tiger prawns and shrimps. The marination was in three levels, mild to spicy, all of its made in house and with spices that are brought down from Kerala. The flavours of these prawns were fantastic. I will highly recommend this dish to anyone. lovely.
The food had really impressed us and not it was time for some dessert, which was a short selection. We ordered Mango chia ice pudding and Passion fruit cheesecake. Again a bold move to have Chia pudding as a dessert, but for me it was falling short of being a fine dessert. On the other had the passion fruit cheesecake was a fine thing. Perfect balance of sweetness. I loved this, unfortunately this finished too soon.
Overall, I enjoyed my time here, As you fish is bold and courageous to open a seafood restaurant in this area. Given the food and service and rest of the nuances, I can understand why its a top rated restaurant. I wish them well and great success and assure them that I am coming back again.
