Breakfast At Treej
Brought to you from the house of Al Fanar, one of the first Emarati restaurant in UAE. They have history and years of being the hospitality industry, they bring to you Treej Cafe. A coming of age of the tradition cuisine to entice a wider audience with the finer local cuisine adding some fusion elements.
Located in the picturesque La Mer community, Treej cafe had held on to its local roots and incorporates it well. Wooden chairs, high ceiling, long chandeliers and a neat set up on the first floor with a grand view of the area, all adds glamour to this place. We had gone recently to try their newly launched breakfast, which they serve from 9am till 11.30 am.
The breafast is good for two people and its consists of Shakshooka, which is an egg based dished, cooked with tomatoe and come leaves for flavours and spices. A thick composition goes with the soft paratas. You gotta use your hands to fully enjoy the local cuisine. Next you get kheema, which is made of minced beef and chickpeas, a bit different from the south asian Kheema, this had its owns flavours again goes well with the parata.
Om Balalit its a folded omelet which comes in bed of sweet flavoured Vermicelli, loved the Omlett but the sweetness of the vermicelli was not going for me, with the Omlett. But I am sure the locals love this. Next is the Regag, a Emirati thin bread which was perfectly crispy on the outer, a bit like the south asian dosa, but totally different taste. The Regag, you can have with a bit of Kheema or the Shakshooka.
And finally you get to enjoy the Chebbab which is the local pancake, doused it with date syrup or honey syrup, let it soak for sometime and then dig into it. lovely taste with the date syrup and its quite heavy. Treej cafe is one fine place to bring your friends to try the local cuisine. You will not be dissapointed here. The service is equally good, Aarvin was taking good care of us. So why wait, head towards Treej and try their breakfast, lunch or dinner. You surely will love it.
