Taking Off From CafeM

Lets Fly Away @ CafeM

Its fascinating how much the F&B sector has to create novel offerings to retain customers and to thrill them with innovative experiences. The  Media One hotel is one popular hotel with top restaurants, pubs and much more. Cafe M recently launched an interesting package to its patrons which valid all day/ all week. So. once you enter and after you are led to your table, one of the hostess will come and ask where in Europe you want to go ? Well the question will bemuse you a bit and make you think too ? Ya ? Well interesting way to get your attention.

Then they go to explain their new offer, that is you get to pick one of the following European countries to take you further. You can choose your destination from France, Italy and Spain and once selected, you will be treated to a specialty from that country. You get to choose a red or white wine from  your selected country, and then that will be paired with a mix of cold meat and cheese board and a sharing dish.

This menu is perfectly set by the expert team of Chefs and Connoisseurs of wine as far as the amalgamation of the flavors, well, all I can say is its perfect. I have had French and Italian cuisine lately so I though of going for Espania. Well we were set to go and seat belts on, lets fly away.

We ordered the red wine, Sangre de Toro. Torres. Founded in mid 1950, which was smooth, a bit fruity. Just did a research on the wine and Its said this is good wine and  reasonably priced, full of flavours, the research said. I too loved it and it went perfectly with the various cheeses which was presented on wooden board along with grapes and strawberry slices. One of the cheese was manchego which is made form the milk of a type of sheep from the manchega breed. Thinly sliced was easy to bite and gave a fine feel with each sip of the wine, The cold cuts consisted of veal ham pancetta and beef speck. The veal ham was fresh, the beep speck was fine too, each bite with a sip did wonders.

The main course was Prawns  & Chorizo ajillo and marinated artichokes. The prawns and Chorizo was really good, large size prawns and perfect spices. It was a tad spicy for me but with a quick gulp of the sangria it balanced the flavours. Really worth the price and the pairing was impeccable. Not a fan of the artichokes, though its healthy so a few bites of those was enough for me.

This whole trip took us around Spain with a fine fair of food and wine, The ambiance and the interiors were complimenting this journey and it was made epic by the service of our hostess Sweksha. Her police personality and attentive service was outstanding.

We had a great time at Cafe M and the trip to Spain was great, so we plan to come back to another long European destination soon.
