Crumby - A Turin Treasure In Dubai

Crumby - A True Journey From Italy To Dubai.

Passion, Passion, Passion, is that what I get, while I reminisce my time here. Starting from the top, the lovely couple which owns and operates this fantastic place of all things Italian. Located in the Omniyat One Tower in Business bay, which is  landmark building is the home for this cozy, home feel place. Simple colors on the walks but a neatly hung wall portraits show of bit and pieces of Turin, Italy,  from where this amazing people hail from. Nothing extravagant here, this is part of their home which they want you to be comfortable with. The Crumby story goes back about 6 decades, where the Co owners Grandfather took on the passion of making pizza's in the neighborhood, which soon became popular. There is magic in their pizza dough. Where they only use the best ingredients imported from Italy, and here they leave the dough to rise once before its put into the oven, and when they put the dough into the oven they keep it a bit longer than what the other pizza places do, and when it comes out its perfect crispy on the outside and it looks full and heavy, but when you bite you will be amazed to see how soft its on the inside, We were really amazed by this. Crumby was an extreme of both, crispy and soft.

We took our seats and then was presented a freshly squeezed orange juice, straight off the juicer and into the cup, delish. We allowed our host to decide what's best and we went by their suggestion and they got us the Bruchetta. This was one fine way to start your Crumby journey, freshly cut tomatoes , garlic oil, oregano and set on a perfect crispy white bread. The flavours were fantastic, the crispy bread and topped with  Mozzarella cheese, this is stand and deliver stuff. wonderful. Next was the  Panzerotto classico and chicken, this they can say its one of their signature a perfectly fried savory and it could come in a variety of other stuffings as well. The classic which was a mix of tomato and mozzarella cheese and the other was Pollo, which was stuffed with chicken. We got them cut into half to both on the table can enjoy. Hot, with wonderful aroma's were emitting from the Panzerotto, each bite you can feel the pull of the cheese, both we were good but wholly enjoyed the Classico, no wonder it was named that. wonderful again. Next we got the Gnocchi of  potatoes, red pesto and Tortellini Ham and creme.

Now there we fantastic pasts, popular Pastas. The Gnochhi was a bit too large for a bite size for me, but the pesto garlic, basil mix was really good, amazing fresh aroma and the dish was still hot. The next was the  Tortellini with Turkey Ham, This honestly was cleared in no time. The creme and the small cut ham pieces and the home made creme was adding royalty to the dish. Simply no words to explain the sensory explosions that we were having. These guys take pride in what they do, they have no doubt about the quality of food presented here. With a bit of space left to try their legendary pizza  and for that we asked for the Pizza Capriciossa, which was a mix of tomato, black olives, mozarella, mushrooms. This was a perfect sized, good to share, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside pizza. All the ingredients baked in the oven come together to give out  a great fusion of taste and goodness. You can eat this and still dont feel full, such is the Crumby specialty.

Finally for the dessert, we got the Tiramisu, home made, strong cocoa powder on top, well this is one fine Tiramissu, I liked it cos I look the fluffy part on the inside and it shouldn't be runny and I got that balance here.

Max & Alissa, who run this place has got passion, and that will drive this brand further and my request to anyone in this area is to drop by this part of their home and enjoy some amazing Italian cuisine and heartfelt service that will make you come again and again.
