Crab Market Brunch

Crab Central

Specialty Crab restaurants are finding a Niche market in Dubai and the demand is getting bigger. Crab Market is one of those premium places you go to enjoy some fantastic varieties  of crab, made in many different ways. We were recently invited to try their first ever Crab Brunch and it was a splendid experience. Once you walk into the massive, stunningly designed restaurant you will be greeted by a mountain of Crustaceans on a ice mountain, ready to greet you. The open kitchen is lively as the chefs moving from station to station, ensuring everything is in order.

A little to the left and towards the live band playing hits after hits, is the crab tank where you get various varieties of crabs and lobsters moving gently. The views from the 14th floor is magnificent and you feel like a giant while your here. The roads and the people all look tiny and beneath you, a surreal feel of being on high.

The Brunch consists of 3 packages, The crab brunch is priced at AED 250, The open bar at AED 350 and the Champagne package at AED 600. The brunch deal was good enough for us, which had a appetizer plate, an all you can eat selection and a main and desserts. The appetizer was a tartare platter. Cauliflower carpaccio and smashed cucumbers. The tartare platter was a fine array of sea fare which consisted of Scallop & Papaya, Tuna & Avacado and Salmon & Mango. A ingredients were undeniable fresh, you can still taste the sea flavours in these. The Tuna and Avocado was delicious with tad spice ane the salmon with cut mango was fine, Loved these openings. The cauliflower carpaccio was a presented well with thick cream and the cucumber was cut into bite size pieces, with some chili oil and vinegar.

Next was the beauty, a array of five items, which is eat all you can. Can you believe a wide variety of Crabs and that you can have it all. Here you get boiled Mud crabs, Crab Sushi roll, Crab sliders, Crab fretters and crab salad. Dont know where to start to explain how wonderful this selection was, undeniably one of the best Brunches that I have been. The Mud crab was fantastic, large size, tender meat , delcious. It was fun breaking the shell and digging into get the juicy, delicious meat. Yummy. Next was the sliders, perfect slider size and soft crab meat inside. you can gobble that up in two bites, loved it. The crab salad was decent, with ample meat inside. This come with freshly cut avocado, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, a refreshing fresh bowl. Sushi roll and crab fretters were a nice addition, giving the main ingredients more flavour and texture. This eat all you can is one excellent choice.

Well, its not over, you still got the main course to follow. You got 5 options to choose from, from Seabass, Octopus, to Ravioli. We chose the Octopus and Ravioli. The presentation  on the Octopus dish was nice, and the meat was perfectly looked. I though it maybe a bit chewy and salty but I was amazed to see how they have got it perfect, it was tad bit hard but the bite was delicious, just rub a bit of the Romesco sauce was the fine partner to this. I was loving the flavours and the passion the team had put into making this incredible dish. Highly recommend  this to any Seafood lovers. The Ravioli Burrata was nice,  for me the Black truffle was a bit too over powering the dish, hence couldn't enjoy it much.

The dessert menu was limited, but what they had was good enough to sweeten the day for us. Lemon meringue and the Tiramisu was a perfect way to seal our enjoyable afternoon at the Crab Market. We loved the ambiance,  the interiors and the exceptional service. Gowthaman ( hope I got this name right) was looking after us and ensuring the food kept coming in.

Will I come back here, Of course, will I tell my friends definitely. This is one of the best placed to enjoy a Crab Brunch.  Brunch opens at 1 pm onward on Friday.
