The Roost Rotisserie

The New Chickings In Town

Mnnn. thinking where to start.. really,, because some places wow you so much and you wonder where to start to give justice to the experience that you have just had. Opened recently in Al Safa area, this restaurant is a very strong contender to give a good chicken fight to the established brands., this I kid you not. Albeit its just one outlet ( for now) this is definitely going places. Many values missed by others is the difference I see here. They use the best locally produced, open range chicken, Farm to fork distance of 40km, other preps that go into, dont know if I can share here, exact time in the grill, special marination and sauces, excellent service and the head chef who designed the menu and who owns it,takes ownership of the outcome and someone who is at the Restaurant to interact with you.  Phew, need I say more,
Here to start I tried their Rosemary delight and later on mintberry cooler. Made fresh, top ingredients and the makers touch, loved it. Simple and nothing fancy but good taste to start the proceedings. Then got the Honey mustard chicken salad. An exceptional mix of asparagus, green beans, edamame, and perfect slices of chicken with honey mustard sauce. Here they haven't hidden the chicken pieces in the greens but have put ample amount of chicken, perfect and tender. The portion size was good as it was good for two people, if not one person could have this as a whole meal.

Next tried the pulled chicken roll comes in a brioche bun. Another fantastic dish. the chicken pieces were ample, no half hearted attempt here. Delicious in each bite, the flavors were great, they have got a secret sauce here, for me it was giving a strong after taste but overall the pulled chicken was fine. Next was the fifty with truffle fries and banana ketch up. Half a chicken, comes with salads, fries. This was really great, you can feel the freshness of the chicken, the skin perfect is golden brown and inside, the meat was so tender, the oil on the skin adding extra bit of flavours. These guys have done some magic with these chicken, it was so fine. Man. I really loved my time here.

The Dessert menu is simple, I ordered the Jaffa cake, they have added their twist on the presentation and flavours. It was a roll which was like a large hollowed doughnut, was a tad bit hard. I would have loved it to be a bit softer, however the mix with the orange, chocolate ice creme was a pure bliss.

Need to mention the service here was really good,  Perfect ( Yes. Mr. Perfect works here) was such a pleasing personality, so was Mukesh, who had some cool skills in making the mocktails. Added to this, you get to meet and chat to the man behind the magic here. Chef Zayn, he is a top chef no doubt, he is climbing the celebrity ladder thick and fast. Here you feel at home,  no jazz no over the top promises. They have taken the simple chicken, made it with love and some magic and offering it you. Enough said.  Why dont you head towards this new place, enjoy and write about it.
