Truly As Thai Cuisine It Can Be

By, now you may think , oh another Thai restaurant in Dubai. Yes, another Thai restaurant in Dubai and this place brings in something new to the game. They have made a bold attempt to add value of their beloved cuisines to the Cuisine seeker. Located near the Al Wasl Club is easily accessible from may roads and parking is never an issue and you have plenty.

When you walk in you are greeted by smiling faces saying " Sawadee ka" which means welcome. The interior is simple but has got many cool features of Thailand. Thai handicraft, baskets all add to a finesse of the place. High ceiling and lights keeps the place cozy, they have two levels inside the restaurant. Now time to get the party started, we ordered the Spicy & Ginger and the Butterfly Pea & Lime, Honey juice The S&G was fine, it had ginger, chili, lime and soda, with a big red chill floating. Really nice take, loved the sweetness and the spicy touch. I loved the Butterfly Pea lemon soda. This is a first time for me to try this Thai specialty and I guess this the one place who has this special mix. This is made from dying the follower and adding into onto the drink, even the ice cube has these flowers inside. You need pour the soda and the alkaline reaction turns into a fine drink in purple color. This is the care they take into their beverages and this got me all interested to try out their menu.

We started with the obvious, the Tom yam soup which had perfect texture of the Thai flavours, top spice levels, lemon grass, mushrooms, yai yai yai, I can go on, the small portion was good for 2 people, their was 4 huge prawns in them. loved it. Next was the Kai hor bai, the names maybe difficult to pronounce but not the taste, as they were delicious. Specially marinated Chicken, deep fried and wrapped in Pandan leaves. Next we got the Tod man goong, which was deep fried shrimp cake, here I loved the meat to floor ratio, as there was bite size chunks which stood out and not over powered by the coating. This is one of their best sellers and I cant disagree on that.

Now, time for the mains we got their Thai green curry, which is called Gag Keaw wan,. The ingredients that they import from Thailand directly makes all the difference here. You will love it and that with the white rice, the combination was excellent, gives you some amazing punches in your mouth with the flavours. Then we had the Pannang Beef, a note when ever offered a dish from Pennag, always go the beef. Cooked on coconut milk, special spices, kaffir lime on top. These are simple pleasures that you can try and enjoy here, word for this is " Soul Food". We ordered the berry rice, which is a healthy rice option, encase you wish to have some. We loved these selection for the mains and I would highly recommend these.

Its dessert time now for that, and like a prayer, we went for the Mango sticky rice, and the Water chestnut in coconut milk. The Mango sticky was a fine balance of sweetness of the mango and the sticky rice which was drizzled   with coconut milk. They use Thai mango for this dish, so they keep the standards of the mango, you will love it. Next the water crest, which is a new addition to the menu was different, not the usually which you would find in a Thai restaurant, but this shows their boldness in wanting to try new offering to the customers. It was nice but maybe I am biased here to say I loved the good ole Mango sticky rice.

I feel happy, I had one fine Thai meal in a good while. The service staff were fantastic, freindly and professional, Hidee, was such a caring host, explaining in detail of the dish and then checking with us on the the dish was, such genuine people make your evening a tad bit more enjoyable. I count it my privilege to meet the man behind the concept and the Head Chef Mr. Leef. It was encouraging to see his passion and to hear the back story of some of the dishes. Such, small talks, really creates a close connection with the brand.

Thank you all, for your care and service and making us feel at home. I am coming back for sure.
