Moombai & Co

Hoye Balle Balle

Man, what an experience that was, loved it. Moombai & Co is place that will take you back in time, make you reminisce the novelties of growing up. The decors are truly a visible bliss. the old dialing telephone, the old fat tv ( which is now non existent) perfectly selected items that told a story and all collated in a picture frame and neatly set. A huge Dole on the side of the bar, dimmed lights, bright color liquid in the bar, the music, all of this just wins you over as soon as you set your foot in, here you know for sure, that you are not going to be disappointed.

There have an interesting selection of bar menu with some catchy names. Their mixes are tops, I was told about their testing and perfecting each mix that was put out. They have painstakingly have created some magic portions here, Meet the Big " Chota Bim" here, he will show you some of his mixologist' skill. PK hai kay and Bombay Bungalow were highly recommended and those tho didn't disappoint at all.

For the Starters we went with Chapp Lababdar & Hari Mirch ka Jhinga. The Lababdar was a fantastic dish, the chops were perfectly marinated and cooked well. You can taste the marination of spices and each profile was distinct, freshly cut onions on the sides was an added kick with each bite, loved it. The next was prawns and this packed a punch as it was one spicy kick. Ground chili, garlic and spice mixes perfectly rubbed and let to marinade and then cooked on open charcoal fire. woww. this was outstanding.

Chicken Berry Biriyani was one of the mains we took, filled to the brim with berry varieties, succulent pieces of chicken, just to delicious in the mouth. Chicken was so tender and man this was fantastic. Cooked in Dum, with long grain, they sell this in  half, 1 & 2 KG offering. You can keep eating this for your hearts content, such was the amazing flavours on this one. Next we got the Salli margi, one of their trademark dish, which had won many accolades from foodies all around. It's a simple recipe from homemade fare but packs an amazing aroma and flavour, served with straw potatoes. Loved the crunch of the potatoe, chicken curry was magic with the butter naan and who wouldn't love that combination. The patra nimanchi, which was a spicy profret wrapped in banana leaf and steamed. The leaves hold the flavours while steamed inside and when unwrapped you are knocked in your nostril with this amazing aroma. You surely will love it.

For desserts we didn't make a fuss, just went for the  baked gulab jamum that was dipped in rabri. Loved the presentation, tiny balls and not to sweet. That was one heck of a meal here. We loved it, The portions size was good and the flavours were fabulous. The service here was outstanding, Sahel was a perfect host, taking care of us, explaining the back story of the dishes. Even the head Bar honcho, told of the testing, RnD of the menu and  so on. All of these small chats, adds to the whole experience of ours.

Thank you guys for the fantastic night, we are definitely coming back to Moombai & Co.
