Seafood Bonanza
Usually I Wouldn't start my feedback in reverse order, but this place was one exception where I felt the need to do so. One thing which set these folks apart was the service. From the time we got off to give the car for valet, then to the doorman and then a concierge, to the front desk hostess to the managers and the attentive servers and even till the person at the coffee shop on the ground floor, It was one seamless effect of a well trained and mannered customer service we got. Hats off the the management for getting this one, difficult part right.
Thursday was Seafood night, the place was packed and it's always a pleasure to see the place filled with people enjoying their meal. Located on the 1st floor of Pullman Deira City centre, Medley can hold up to 200 ppl, Elegant design and areas with various seating arrangements, ample light adorning the place. They had a salad section, bread, live cooking station and a variety of seafood and non seafood on the menu and a wide variety of Desserts.
The salads had prawn shooters, tune, eel, mackerel, baby octopus and more. fresh flavours. loved the octopus, oh forgot to mention, they had prawns, clams, mussels and more. loved it all. Next was the live cooking area were you can pick your fish from a variety on offer. many to name but we got out eyes fixed on lobster and prawns. You pick and tell them how you want it made, and they will deliver to your table with a proper presentation.
There was Paella, calamari in thai green curry, beef, chicken, fried shrimp and fish. Loved the paella and the calamari, great flavours. Then in time came the prawns and lobster. what can i say... grilled to perfection, love them both. Perfect texture on the lobster and the prawns, well you can taste the freshness of the sea. loved it. The Desserts, was fantastic, I kid you not, the the spread here was quite long, cake varieties were top too.
Marites was fantastic looking after us, the crew kept clearing the table and replaced with with cutlery. The manager Ali made sure the customers were looked after well, always with a smile. Terrific guy. Damith was a pleasing personality, all of these guys made sure we were looked after well. There small chats really made us feel welcome, The genuine service from their heart was very evident here. After we moved from the restaurant, we strolled pass the famous Dilmah Lounge, even though it was closing time the person at the counter, indulged us in a conversation, showed us the tea samples, explained to us, which she did not need to as they had closed by now, but because of her professionalism and courtesy we are definitely going there again.
Again, the guys at valet, the doorman. all took time to say a Hi and a short chat, asking about our experience. It was glad to see the staff of Pullman DCC engaging not only the restaurant guys but even the rest. We felt so welcome and definitely coming back here.
