Korean Sensation
K pop is slowly taking over the globe, no doubt... Korean Cuisine is plentiful in UAE, but now comes a new addition, Bingsoo,, its anything as much as Korean as Samsung and KIA, This is not a brand, but a lifestyle, not just Dessert but its passion. For the uninitiated such as me, this would be a another fancy item on the menu but that stops there. You step in through these doors, you step in to culture, lifestyle and history. A well decorated outlet, with natural light over flowing here. Wooded theme all around at a colorful maple tree perched in the middle ads more to the glamour.
Bingsoo, is desserts made from Ice shavings, but topped with a plethora of toppings, from variety of beans to fruits and nuts. Came to full fledged existence around the mid 80s now Bingsoo fever is slowly creeping across the globle. Meal Top is a brand that has over 100 outlets in K country and their 1st in UAE, located in the cool backdrop of La Mer.
We started with Strawberry bingsoo, toped with straberry, banana and guess what beans. yes, beans.. first of all you would feel the different taste of the beans but as you keep indulging it more you will appreciate and respect the flavour combination. Note, dont wait too long to enjoy theses goodies,, after all it ice, will mealt. Next we tried their Mxed softie, a specialty ice creme, with vanailla and green tea flavours. I was a bit apprehensive in the beginning but with each bite, this ice creme won be over. Loved it.
Next we tried the mango flavors, Fresh, tasty mango cut pieced on top of the bingsoo. You cant ask for more than this to beat this crazy summer beat. You will love it. We Loved it. Tried they snow latte coffee, even their coffee taste good. One thing here is that they try n import all possible ingredients from K, except the fruit which has to sourced locally. This effort is to maintain consistency and to ensure that quality of their offering is not compromised.
We were well looked after by the cheerful team here. Raj was taking us thru the menu and along with it, giving us a bit of history as well. It was our privilege to meet the Ops Manager- Mr. Abhay who further indulged with a broader view of the Bingsoo and the passion behind to bring the brand to UAE. Always a pleasure to hear the back stories. La Mer, may look a bit quiet now, but within a few months time, this place is going to be bustling, then dont forget to drop by this place and enjoy some authentic K town goodness. Good luck guys
