Had visited Mum's table
last week, located at the Dubai Design District, The place is slowly becoming a
popular place for diners who want to enjoy the art and quietness of the area.
The restaurant is much designed, cozy and gives a homely feel. The table arrangements
are nice, you get one long high table for the singles to enjoy the food and the
view and then you have the usual table set up and couches. The interiors are
elegant and Insta friendly.
We got 2 mojitos to start, strawberry and passion. Loved the presentation, and the drinks were refreshing. Starters we ordered the hummus tahina, Muhammara. Muhammara is a tradition Syrian dish made from hot peppers. It was not hot but perfect, loved the natural flavours, went well with the freshly baked bread. For the mains we ordered the grilled salmon and the dish of the day. The grilled salmon was excellent, perfectly grilled and amazing texture, the skin was perfectly grilled to crisp and the size of the fillet was excellent, we loved it. The dish of the day is a cool deal, perfect for the regulars in the area, I got the chicken alakif, which was perfectly grilled chicken with some white sauce and boiled vegetables and rice, along with salads and hummus and bread. Excellent value for money and the portions was really good. The entire dish was a hit, loved it.
For desserts we got Hitalia, a new dessert they were introducing. which was made from milk and corn flower, pistachio ice cream and white rose water. That was not too sweet, but had a perfect balance and one was good enough to share.
Overall, We loved the place here, Service staff were good and always with a smile, They made us feel welcomed and looked after us well. This is truly a cozy place and wish many will visit this restaurant for an traditional Lebanese, Syrian affair.
